Visiting Orient for Film & Theatre Productions in Cairo. In addition meetings with artists, visiting venues we made a stop to the pyramids and other places related to the Zosimos opera.

Orient Productions is a private production company, created in 2007. Its main mission is to develop quality cultural projects within the fields of performing arts involving artists from Egypt, the Arab world & beyond.

Among its many activities Orient Productions is producing D-CAF - Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival, the largest contemporary arts festival in Egypt.

Mazaher is an ensemble in which women play a leading role. The musicians are among the last remaining Zār practitioners in Egypt.

A featured instrument in Zār is the tanbūra, a six-string lyre. Other instruments are the mangour, a belt sewn with many goat hooves.
