This concept is based on one projector at each venue. In Mimes brønn, in Bergen, this can be as shown in the sketch to the right: A plain looking bar, that can be hidden behind the expandable wall. The projection screen can be removed, and projections an light effects can be shown directly on the textile backdrop.
The height of the projection surfaces (shown above in yellow) is 240 centimeters. This can be the only "external" element at mot of the venues. In addition there will be projections on the textile background.
The "Wheel og time and fortune" (indicated at the bottom left, in the scene above) is an experimental idea. This may be used to enable actors on the stage manipulating sounds, live, using software and hardware derived from Sonic Greenhouse.
One of the many challenges is to make these four places visible and audible across all the locations. Mimes Brønn will be the main node, but all the nodes will be part of the performance and must see and hear the others.
Above a solution with a scale model of the stage, built from a cardboard box, on a scale of approximately 1:25. The large screen in Mimes brønn is thus represented by an A4 sheet. The stage consists of four projection surfaces, two wooden boards in standard building dimensions (120X240 cm), the large screen (750X500cm) and a smaller screen in front (600X200cm). In OBS the different video sources are adjusted, so that they fit exactly with the projection surfaces.
The Concert hall, Studio Acusticum, in Piteå is large, and has an organ that can be played remotely. This is where the quior, Erik Westberg vokalensemble, will perform.
In Berlin Hotel Continental - Art Space in Exile is a Center of Contemporary Culture. The name “Hotel Continental” refers back to the Center of Contemporary Art “Hotel Continental” in Mariupol. The CCA “Hotel Continental” was completely destroyed in April 2022.
In Cairo the venue is facilitated by Orient Productions. Orient Productions is arranging the yearly Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival D-CAF.
A test setup, using a small scale model of the concert hall (Mimes brønn), to test and verify the placement and size of the various video sources. All sources are fed into OBS (Open Broadcasting system), and combined into one single projection with the different sources placed to match the projection surfaces.
The layouts, in OBS or another videomapping software, must be adjusted to each of the four sites, mapping the different sources to the specific projection surfaces.
Below: test setup in OBS with four external video sources: three videostreams and one webcamera (directly connected to the computer). In addition local files, like animations. All sources can be mapped on the screen and, and assigned to different scenes and corresponding layouts.
